Are you Windows Phone’s Next App Star?

Are you a mobile app developer? If you want your app to be centre stage then we’ve got a pretty cool competition for you. The very special top prize is <fanfare>a featured placement of the winner’s app in a Windows Phone primetime TV ad in the U.S.</fanfare>

Participation is easy — the contest is open to anyone who can develop a Windows Phone app (i.e. any developer). Just visit the Dev Center to opt-in and publish apps – you’ve got until March 5th. App submissions will be judged based on equal weighting of user ratings and app quality, including implementation of Windows Phone 8 features, like Live tiles.

Any customers looking to download apps from their phone or in the app store will get to try your app and then vote for their favourites, so you’ll go head to head with your peers. The top 64 will be selected based on ratings and then those 64 are whittled down over several weeks of customer voting.

All 64 challenge winners will receive:

A Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone.

Featured promotion in the Windows Phone Store.

Exposure for winning apps via online media.

A 1-year free Dev Center subscription.

The Grand Prize winner receives:
