I'm also excited by your summary of Laurence Penney's talk on font stacks and fallbacks. I didn't know it worked like that, either, and that provides some potentially really interesting options. Not sure I agree with Yves Peters about not making changes to tracking in lowercase text. I've had some great results with making tweaks to that, making content text both more readable and more attractive. Fascinating stuff, and a really comprehensive write up.
