Celebrating 20 years of Microsoft Research

Founded in 1991, Microsoft Research has just turned 20 and to celebrate this anniversary they are highlighting some of their favourite projects from the last 20 years on their site: http://research.microsoft.com. Over the last 20 years, they have released many incredible papers and ideas that have found their way into products that we use everyday. Kinect, WorldWide Telescope, Kodu, FUSElabs, ClearFlow are just a few of their playful, innovative, useful and educational projects. You can see their pick of a sampling of projects from recent years, however, i thought I’d post a few of my own favourites here.

Enjoy.
