Flying from Paris? Check out the 2D staff

Orly airport in Paris has taken a new approach to letting you know when to board the plane – telling you in person. Wait.. that’s not very innovative is it? But I did forget to mention they are holograms.

The holograms may not ‘materialise’ out of thin air, but they do seem to do so. In actuality, the video of a member of staff is a projection on a perfect fit plexiglass cutout.

While it may not be 3D just yet, and no match to the capabilities of R2-D2, it is great to see in mainstream public and has certainly created a positive reaction – with passengers quite amazed by the virtual boarding staff.

Ha! I’ve seen a couple of these before (telling you what stuff to take out of your bag before going through security, rather than boarding) and they’re actually disturbingly realistic!
