I’d listen to music every minute of the waking hour if there weren’t such severe social consequences, and take plenty of photos when I’m out (to compensate for my lack of memory robustness). I hate carrying loads of devices so pretty much rely on my HTC Mozart (yep – Windows Phone 7) to do both things for me. The Windows Phone team have produced some videos outlining how phones are used in daily life by creative minds – called the ‘Me’ series, take a look here.
Hands up if you’ve got a video camera
While taking photos on your phone is nothing new, the sharing mechanism has evolved from MMS to sending/pushing online to simple synchronisation between device and storage in the cloud. But videos – is that in the same sphere? While there’s undoubtedly been improvements in the quality of recorded video, is it really good enough to rely on for an event that really means something to you?
does the phone really cut it?
Todd Cole, the acclaimed fashion photographer and music video/commercial director (Charlotte Gainsbourg, No Age, Rodarte and Commes Des Garcons) reckons so. To the point that he decided to shoot the video for Kurt Vile’s song Baby’s Arms entirely on a WP7 device, exploring a love story between a young couple living their lives in Cole’s hometown of Los Angeles.
