Free WebMatrix e-book

WebMatrix

WebMatrix is an awesome tool that lets you build web sites in the easiest way possible, and one of the things we’ve heard makes it really cool is the fact that it’s lightweight and easy to use: you get the stuff you need for your particular site from server to database to language framework to the editing tools and publishing capabilities, without having to deal with the fat around the edges.

WebMatrix screenshotThere are plenty of product reviews, tutorials and showcase sites that demonstrate how WebMatrix can be used in a variety of different scenarios for a world of solutions. Some are good, some are not, some are simplistic and some are mind-numbingly detailed (<Enter screenshot of ‘OK’ button> <Enter screenshot of cursor hovering over ‘OK’ button>). Basically all of it is online.

We wanted to package up what we felt was the best content out there and walk through the end-to-end use case, make it available to use offline, easy to navigate and with a Ubelly twist. So we’ve done just that.

Announcing the Ubelly WebMatrix e-book: available for your downloading convenience for the grand price of nothing.

We’ve scoured the web and pieced together a guide for what we hope makes building and deploying web sites quicker and easier for newbies and seasoned devs alike. Some of the content we wrote ourselves, some we’ve used from other sources. We hope it makes playing with WebMatrix that little bit more fun (we’re thinking about a pop-up book as a v2.0, let us know what you think). Download the e-book here.

Andy’s so into web there’s a suspicion he’s actually Peter Parker MK II. Having spent a couple of years at the Microsoft mothership in Seattle you’ll most probably hear him rambling about business opportunity, experiences that ‘pop’ but most probably just something about music.
