Noise to Signal: What Microsoft Australia does

Pictures and a thousand words… Last week the Ubelly gang had a couple of days in an agency office somewhere in the cool part of London to think about how we can better talk to developers, designers and students in the future. After a lot of deep soul searching and caffeine, I ended up spending too long refining little animations on a deck (PowerPoint to you non-Microsofties) to encapsulate what we spoke about. More on that in the future.

Sometimes it’s good to take a breath and think about what you really go on a daily basis. Check out how our friends in Australia approached this:

And here’s the actual thing in all its glory.

(Try clicking around on stuff, it makes it even more fun). My learning after seeing this is 1) I need to broaden my creative pallet to encompass more than just PowerPoint and 2) As a first step in that direction I might perform a silent interpretive dance instead of actually speaking, the next time I present.

Andy’s so into web there’s a suspicion he’s actually Peter Parker MK II. Having spent a couple of years at the Microsoft mothership in Seattle you’ll most probably hear him rambling about business opportunity, experiences that ‘pop’ but most probably just something about music.
